Enterprise creation and development

Aim of the course: is to provide the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge to create business model canvas for own business idea and develop a business plan. The course provides an overview of business processes, creative business ideas generation and evaluation, understanding of successful start-up business model development and information included in the business plan. Course assessment provides business plan development and business idea pitch.

XML Technologies

Learn how to store and process information in XML-based languages, design and describe documents using XML standards. XML is a descendant of SGML, the Standard Generalized Markup Language, one of the first languages that use tags to describe data that otherwise would be treated as plain text. Two main applications of SGML are now in use: HTML - used mostly for presentation, and XML - for storage of information encompassed in tags. XML is extensible, which means it allows to define a lot of domain-specific languages following the same rules of creating XML documents.

Elements of Microwave Technique

The aim of this subject is to present the principles of microwave technique. It focuses on explaining the basic phenomena that are necessary to understand the differences between low frequency electronics and microwave technique. A lot of attention is given to impedance matching and transmission lines because those issues are important even for those engineers who rather use hig-frequency devices rather than design their own constructions.

Matlab & Simulink

Matlab is the programming platform designed to perform efficient computational tasks on large sets of numbers. You will find it useful for:

  • processing large sets of data
  • building models
  • process any algorithm.

But in contemporary world who doesn't use numbers? That's why Matlab is used in almost every discipline: engineering, signal processing, communication, signal processing, image processing, control systems, measurements, physics, medicine, finance or psychology.

Electromagnetic Compatibility

The aim of this subject is to present the principles of Electromagnetic Compatibility. It focuses on explaining the basic phenomena that are necessary to understand the mechanism of generation the electromagnetic disturbances and the transfer of noise from one circuit to another. A lot of attention is given to noise coupling and crosstalk analysis as those issues are important to printed circuit board designers.  Also the grounding and shielding of circuits is covered here. Theoretical part is illustrated with practical exercises.

Innovation

After completing the course Student should: list and classify types of innovation, analyse the processes associated with the management of innovation, search, and identify sources of innovative improvements, prepare proposals for improvements in the innovation activities, and use of methodologies to support innovation design.

Professional Language Skills

This course is designed for Master’s students interested in pursuing research to improve their scientific writing skills. The course takes learners through the main sections of a typical scientific research article, providing strategies for writing the title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusions, with a focus on  grammar, style, structure, and useful phrases. The course is taught in online classes (30 h), supported by extensive e-learning resources for independent study.

Brand Management

The course presents theoretical knowledge and supports the development of practical skills in the field of brand management, with particular emphasis on building the brand identity, brand positioning and planning activities in the area of marketing communication.
